NL-A Lifting Magnets                                                                                  NL lifting magnets

Armstrong LiftMag™

To select a right NL-A lifting magnet to lift your work load you must consider the following things:

Lifting Capacities and Working Temperature.
Dimensions and Weight of the lifting magnet.
What is the shape and dimensions of the load to be lifted?
Flat load?
Round solid bar?
Pipe? and
What are their surface conditions? (Smooth or rough? Clean or rusty? Painted or not? etc. )
What material is the work load to be lifted?

After reading the following information you probably can select a right lifting magnet or may request a quote for it by clicking .
If you are still not very sure which model would be applicable for your use, please fill "Lifter Application Data Form" and submit to us.

Reduction of rated lifting capacity for the surface finish:
If the surface of the load is rust, dirt or rough, approximate 0.010" air gap will be created between the lifting magnet and the load. Therefore, the lifting capacity will be 65%-85% of that above.
If the surface of the load is painted, very rust or rough, the air gap would be 0.020", the lifting capacity would be 50%-70%

Reduction of rated lifting capacity for alloy:
Low Carbon Steel: 100%.
Middle Carbon Steel: 85%-90%.
High Carbon Steel: 70%-75%.
Cast Iron: 45%-50%
