In 2015 manufacturers all over the world produced a total of 143,000 tons of Neodymium
magnets, including sintered Neodymium magnets and bonded Neodymium magnets. This global output
of 2015 is 12.6% more than 2014. The global yield of Neodymium magnets in 2014 was 127,000
tons. China is the main source of the Neodymium magnets, about 80% of them are made there.
Since the
discovery of Neodymium magnet compounds in 1982, the global output of Neodymium
magnets has been increased rapidly from less 1 ton in 1983 to 143,000 tons in 2015.
Now
a quarter of Neodymium magnets production is used in new technology fields, such as new energy vehicles. While
the rest of this magnet material are applied in traditional industries, such as consumer electronics.
